Corporate Engagement Lead

Location: Ottawa, Canada

Salary: unpaid; voluntary

Position overview

Corporate Engagement reports to the President and is accountable for:

· building a community of passionate professionals who are engaged in EWB through their respective companies

· raising awareness of the role that EWB plays in international development within the Ottawa corporate community with an aim to drive pro-development elements of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agendas;

· securing funding from corporate partners’ management and employee base

Roles & Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities of the Corporate Engagement Lead include:

  • Ensuring that there is a coordinated and professional approach towards building relationships with corporations

  • Recruiting, training, and retaining Corporate Liaisons who will be responsible for maintaining relationships with corporate partners

  • Providing Corporate Liaisons the support required to successfully deliver EWB workshops to corporate partners

  • Interfacing with the National Office Corporate Engagement point of contact consistently to ensure that the activities are aligned with National goals

  • Actively leveraging funding opportunities where they are available in the corporate sector

  • Attending periodic national conference calls with other Corporate Engagement leads to share lessons learned and to promote unity


This position does not require any specific experience, however it is considered an asset if the candidate has any of the following experience:

  • Investor or Public Relations

  • Prior EWB-related involvement (student/city chapter, national office, social change fellow, etc)
