Director of Fundraising

Position: Director of Fundraising  (alternate titles: VP Fundraising; Fundraising Officer) 

Location: Ottawa, Canada
Salary: unpaid; voluntary
Number of hours: 1-3 hours/week 
 
Position overview
As part of the executive leadership team, the Director of Fundraising plays a critical role and is responsible for developing, maintaining and executing an effective fundraising strategy for the Chapter and establishing or maintaining relationships with sponsors or organizations.
General involvement/participation in EWB Ottawa Chapter activities that are not necessarily part of the regular position duties is expected (i.e. Annual fundraiser, member learning, etc.)
Roles & Responsibilities 
  • Develop a fundraising strategy for the chapter to meet its operating needs and to support expanding EWB’s African programs
  • In coordination with the Chapter leadership, develop ideas for future fundraising events and initiatives
  • Further develop the fundraising strategy for R2EP involving coordination with the Communications Officer to develop and implement a marketing/communications strategy
  • Work with the R2EP Committee members, including interfacing with the EWB University of Ottawa and EWB Carleton University R2EP representatives to execute on R2EP initiatives
  • Interfacing with EWB National Office fundraising staff to support wider fundraising initiatives
  • Collaborating with the Director of Corporate Engagement on fundraising strategies
  • Engaging with EWB National Office Fundraising Manager to expand existing fundraising program scope
Experience  
This position does not require any specific experience, however it is considered an asset if the candidate has any of the following experience:
  • Fundraising coordinator
  • Communications and marketing experience
  • Banking/Finance expertise
  • Investment or corporate engagement
  • Prior EWB-related involvement (student/city chapter, national office, social change fellow, etc)
