Operations Officer

Position: Operations Officer (Alternate titles: Operations Coordinator; VP operations; Director of Operations; Operations Director)  

Location: Ottawa, Canada 
Salary: unpaid; voluntary  
Number of hours: 1-3 hours/week  
Position overview
As part of the executive leadership team, the Operations Officer is responsible for ensuring that the operational aspects and “chapter infrastructure” of EWB Ottawa are stable and running smoothly. This involves coordination of meetings, events and logistics, including to our partner organizations and sponsors.
General involvement/participation in EWB Ottawa Chapter activities that are not necessarily part of the regular position duties is expected (i.e. Annual fundraiser, member learning, etc.)
Roles & Responsibilities  
  • Supporting the Co-Presidents on the day-to-day operations of the Chapter
  • Ensure documentation of all events/initiatives by developing an pre-event checklist/agenda, ensure all post-event info is recorded (meeting minutes) and to establish an online space for documents
  • Ensuring successful coordination and logistics of Chapter meetings
  • Create a compelling value proposition for members to get involved so that we can develop a leadership pipeline
  • Ensuring successful coordination and logistics of workshops and events
  • Maintaining up-to-date chapter metrics (memberships, etc)
  • Maintaining an Actions Tracking Database and a Status Table of all live activities to ensure that the chapter is executing upon tasks that are aligned with the goals.
  • Serving as the chair of executive leadership team meetings
This position does not require any specific experience, however it is considered an asset if the candidate has any of the following experience:
  • Event planning/coordination
  • Logistics and event management
  • Executive/Office assistant
  • Prior EWB-related involvement (student/city chapter, national office, social change fellow, etc)
